Hellgate Global Closing Announcement
« on: Oct 21, 2015; 07:16 am »
Greetings,

It is with great sadness that we would like to inform everyone that the Hellgate Global Server will be ceasing its operations.
Servers will be up until december 31, 2015.
In-game Cashshop will be disabled starting October 7,2015 and will not be accessible anymore ;
Further information regarding TCOIN related inquiries will be announced at a later date.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the understanding and support that everyone gave us from the start up to now.

Sincerely,
Hellgate Team

Just remembered PlayNC (or is it NCsoft never can remember).  Was thinking how bad it is of T3fun to have put this game out there and barely even bothered to support it. Remembering PlayNC put it into perspective for me though. T3fun kept the game up and running for the longest time. Even after most people had moved on to something else.

PlayNC had a tendency to kill and then drop a game before its popularity was even gone. If they didn't like the amount of profits it provided they would get rid of it. Makes sense from their perspective. Though it really sucked for the player bases. That and there abysmal password system is what ultimately drove me away from trying out PlayNC's games.

Was just looking through my bookmarks for both companies pages. Just to see how they were doing. Turns out I deleted my Online games folder. Strange that. Wonder what I was thinking at the time.

It was nice of T3fun to keep the game up and running as long as they did.

It makes no sense...it is clear that hgg server is a pc with perhaps 4TB HD, which 1 person restarts and cleans the cache mem once per week. So maintenance cost is...what? Electricity bill? Paying the person who writes those "server maintenance anouncements"?

So Djessy...who were you lying to when you said "they" ask for 350k USD for the server? Now its closing. If i were to close the server for whatever reasons I'd sure want to sell it for 500 USD ;)

New and most likely last Version of mmBBQ:
http://forum.gamersunity.de/allgemeines/62115-hellgate-global-closing-announcement.html#post1046690

It has a fix for the Premium Shop in case you want to spent your last TCoins.

[EDIT] by NiteHawk
As for previous versions of this particular mod, caveat: The linked mmBBQ version contains user-contributed code ("SPAMMERS" in config_hell.lua and a modified hell_chat.lua) to censor specific Hellgate user accounts by default. Not amused - if you feel something like this is really desirable, please at least make sure to disable/comment out those entries in "release" versions, so users have to actively select/enable it.

There's a good way to start the day...Fuck.

Not quite able to figure out a bright side just yet,if there is one.Say,"now they might sell the IP and blah blah"...I really wanna be that guy right now but I can't.

Hehehe, someone really implemented it at last. I played around with mmbbq to make a Trivia bot and fooled around with something similar. But putting it into a "release" version. :D

Ah well, let's hope for the best and see what happens with the ip in the future.
Though, seeing how they are in development of a "new" hellgate I don't think they will drop it anytime soon.

Maybe we are lucky enough to play on korean servers (again?).
Time to learn some korean...

Well, that's sad. Hopefully they'll sell the IP after they gave up on HG VR and we will see a well developed HG2. One can dream...

Welcome to the dreamers' boat,my friend.

There's an even smaller boat in this harbor though. The "maybe the HG Gods will grant us LAN" boat, which I dare say sounds more plausible. But hey, between miniscule odds and slightly less miniscule odds, who's keeping score?  :(
