Hellgate Podcast
« on: Aug 13, 2015; 05:34 am »
I am thinking of setting out on the dubious task of a weekly HGG podcast starting right at the beginning and being initially a kind of beginners guide audio, developing into a more in depth assessment of classes, maps and abilities. As a high level player who has recently started a fourth new char I hope I have all bases covered, and HG is a game where I am still learning things after playng the vanilla since 2007.

Apart form dishing out general and later more refined tips, it would serve as a good advert for the game. Might even put it on itunes.

A couple of questions then, what would people like to see in there, and would you listen?

Best Regards,

Magus

Class 'guides' and overviews of the different main storyline quests are definitely welcome.  You could probably get away with an episode dedicated exclusively to certain areas such as Stone Henge, Tokyo and Base Defense.

You may want to consider doing one on the history of the game since some people still may not be aware of the game's sordid history (I.E. The Flagship rise and fall, Hanbit taking it over, and the unknown future of the IP).

Happy to announce that 3 Hellgate podcasts in mp3 format are now up on 1000mikes.com - the Cyberline channel. They cover the very basic (Ep1) to more fundamental issues (Ep3) and the course of the shows will progress to more indepth content as time goes on.

Thank you for the replies, especially Cthulu! A nice selection of ideas some of which I have pencilled in for future shows, but there were some additional things I hadn't thought of and will be devoting podcast time to them - the historical aspect for a start (very nice) and I like the "specials" - was certaily going to do dedicate a show to each class and have a number of people willing to discuss some areas I am unfamiliar with such as Summies.

Hellgate podcast: every Wednesday 9pm UK time on 1000mikes.com - the Cyberline channel and for download afterwards. Look for previous broadcasts if you have a problem finding it and look for the sign of the smiling pumpkin!.

Looking forward to the cast on Oct.6 , glad to know people are still out there that saw the potential of Hellgate and continue to be fans of it such as myself. It was truly the right way to evolve the genre.

Incredible work Magus, really looking forward to more :)

I did blush when I caught that reference to my little guardian's video in your last episode, admittedly.
Speaking of which,if there's anything I could be of assistance with I'd gladly contribute to your work :)

List of Global class guides.
The above guides may be obsolete for vanilla SP, but they may still hold true for the 2018 Steam version.

Thanks Bryan,

I wish I had started this 4 years ago, but distracted instead by Bioshock series/Company of Heroes/other nonsense.

In view of it being the end of HGG, I did a last *thanks* podcast, but like death, none of us really know what will happen afterwards...

1000mikes------> the cyberline (It was getting funny too, ah well).

Thank you for your words.
