Base Defense Quests
« on: Sep 30, 2023; 08:09 pm »
I'm attempting to fix the quests related to Base Defense. They might be broken beyond repair or beyond my capabilities. Where I need some help is does anybody remember the quests & order for Base Defense. There seems to be 3 quests possibly related to Base Defense. I know for sure Protect the Towers if the main quest that triggers the event. There is 2 other quests I'm not sure about Risky Tower & Things I Can Do.

I don't know if it would be easier to just find this quest and change the requirements for it from multiplayer to just one NPC. You accept the task and can complete it solo, if that was even possible.

You didn't say whether you want to play Tower Defense at all or whether you are only interested in items from there. If you are interested in the second option, it may be better to modify the daily quest in which Contra added two items from the set. A third surprise could be added, a random one from the pool of TD items with perfect stats.

Would like to play it add it back to the game. I gave up for now but might revisit it in the future. Nothing I tried worked. It may not be able to be fixed.

In my mod I've added the set items as drops and even the pet. Still would be cool to play it.

Yes, I remember there was a quest that allowed me to defend the base, it was a long time ago, and I remember that they killed me there very quickly and again I could not get there without a party, I tried to find these quests in the file, but it seems the lines are not filled in, I think the original files of the global version will help here

There was also an endless dungeon. There was something like a station or PVP room, but I don’t remember how to get there either, maybe someone can tell me, I really want it to work, of course

This was probably designed for teams and probably couldn't be completed without drastic changes solo.

Base Defense was indeed designed for teams, and for the Nano Forge. In SP there's a huge advantage in the latter, in that enhancements are much more accessible (never mind modded enhancement caps), so it *might* be possible solo - but of course it's always better to actually tweak MP-based elements for SP play.

I don't believe the endless dungeon was ever released in Global, so I don't know if it even exists in its files. It may have been exclusive to the Japanese server, if memory serves.
And PvP terminals I believe were removed in Steam, which made sense since PvP can't occur in SP - never mind that they didn't tweak PvP achievements to match that.

List of Global class guides.
The above guides may be obsolete for vanilla SP, but they may still hold true for the 2018 Steam version.

Perhaps you are right and there is no way to fix this, but I did three repeating quests in Tokyo which requires killing all three bosses from the defense of the base, whether this will be interesting or not to other players I don’t know, but I intend to release this

I'm not against the idea at all, mind you, and I do believe players would likely find it interesting. All I'm saying is that it'd probably need difficulty tweaks, since the original was party-oriented and very Forge-reliant. (Although one could argue the Forge is now much more accessible, so maybe the difficulty is more manageable than before.)

I had to reconfigure the mod Mayhem Since armor set drops can now be knocked out of them, as for the default they have become too light I reconfigured the armor affix to enhance skills and many others, so I'm now testing on different characters, The difficulty of the game at the beginning is still there and whoever is familiar with it, I think they will be able to level up the character quickly, problems with attributes now do not arise since you can get a ring for +999 as well as For completing additional quests increased from +1 to +5, and that’s not all, I won’t tell all the secrets  ;)
